This is a new site that is regularly being added to and hopefully improved. If anybody can recommend places of interest in Yorkshire, perhaps not so well known, that would be worthy of a visit, please email me details at Mailto:david@dave-ford.co.uk. I can then visit these on my next Yorkshire holiday and add them to the site. July 2001. I have made some improvements to the site, including an index map which provides an alternative method of navigating around the site. A new rotating logo on the home page, which I hope is not too much of a distraction. Also Goathland has been added using digital photo's taken with a Fuji 4700 digital camera. I think these are an improvement on the scanned in photo's used previously, and hope to gradually replace the other pictures. August 2001. Following a recent holiday, the Castle Howard pages have been updated and a new page has been added describing Malham and Skipton. October 2001. A page on Harewood, a grand English country house in west Yorkshire and The World of James Herriot at Thirsk have both been added. December 2001. Home Page header modified. Filmshow animated gif logo created in Paint Shop Pro and loaded as a sliced gif file. June 2002. I have returned from another weeks break in Yorkshire, with details of new places visited and also more photographs for adding to some exisiting pages, as detailed below:- More photographs of Helmsley, and details of the walled garden. A new page on Holmfirth where 'Last of the Summer Wine ' is filmed A new page on the north Yorshire coast resort of Scarborough Revisions to the National Rail Museum in York. I have added a page of free wallpapers and a screensaver that can be downloaded A new page has been added describing the JORVIC Viking Centre in York. February 2003. I Have added additional images to several pages including:- Goathland, Castle Howard, Harewood House, Fountains Abbey, Bronte's Haworth and the Dales National Park. May 2003. A new facility has been added for visitors to send free E-cards to friends, complete with a photograph selected from those displayed on this site. This facility is accessible from the links on the Homepage below the main site logo. July/September 2003. A new improved link layout has been added to all the attraction pages and a new site logo created for the home page. Following a further visit to Yorkshire in June a number of new pages have been added to the site as follows: New photographs and update to York Castle Museum. August 2004. An updated logo has been added to the site Home page. Following my annual visit to yorkshire in June the listed additions (with links) have been made to the site. The new Index Map consists of a grid map plus scheduled links to all site attractions. December 2004 Some new wallpapers and a new screen saver have been selected for 2005. These have been chosen from images captured during the current year February 2005 Acting on a suggestion made by one of the visitors to my site, I have now added a link from most pages to the official website of the attraction. This is to provide information on current opening times and admission charges. I have also been searching my photo archives for new material which has been added to several pages. November 2005 A new miniature slideshow animated gif, has been incorporated into the side navigation frame. March 2006 I have added a new viewing gallery featuring my Favourite Yorkshire Landscapes. The images are also contained elsewhere on this site but are brought together in this Gallery for easy viewing.
